Open Your Eyes

Today in worship, we read this weird little story from 2 Kings. We are following both the lectionary, and the children's curriculum this summer, which suggested reading it as a way to talk about peacemaking. Then, I suggested two invitations from the story.

Invitation number one: Open your eyes to God's presence where you don't expect it.
Invitation number two: Open your eyes to a new way of solving an old problem.

This came after a conversation at Peace Village on Thursday night, about how often those of us around the table at least, pray as a very last resort, only when every other solution has fizzled.

Then, I came home and found these two suggestions from my awesome dad. Open your eyes. God is all around. A new way is possible.
